“The Book of Good Practice shows the sum of the winning initiatives Culturama Innovation Award on youth and a selection of initiatives developed in Spain and in other countries of the European Union. These initiatives teach us other ways of making and understanding non-formal learning. In this third edition of the Prize Culturama we focused on projects promoted by citizens’ initiatives that promote non-formal learning styles from urban areas.
The city offers dynamic and versatile spaces that provide opportunities to learn and to engage in various aspects throughout our lives. These spaces are complementary to formal education processes taking place in the classroom training resources. Commonly, these actions are born of associations and groups of young people, using these resources, provide new perspectives for use, and exert a dynamic and mediating role in its social context. These initiatives help youth groups resize urban environments and facilitate links with citizens, encouraging a more active, aware and responsible participation.”
